As the son of a Korean War-era veteran, Senator Joe Robach has made supporting veterans a priority. In support of area veterans, Joe Robach attended various Veterans Day recognition ceremonies throughout the community over Veterans Day weekend.
“These brave men and women put their lives on the line for us on a daily basis, without hesitation or question. I’m truly honored to be able to celebrate Veterans Day with some of our nation’s heroes, and thank them for all that they have done for our great nation,” said Joe Robach.
On Friday, November 8, Joe Robach teamed with Time Warner Cable, the History Channel and the Brighton Central School District to bring Take a Vet to School Day to Brighton High School. This one of a kind event allows students of all ages to hear firsthand about the experiences of war and defending our nation from area veterans. A group of nine area veterans generously volunteered their time to share their inspiring stories with these students.
Joe Robach supported veterans at Veterans Day events in the Town of Greece on Saturday, November 9. First at the Greece Assembly of God Veterans Day breakfast, where he joined Greece residents, veterans and community leaders for prayer and remembrance. The annual veteran’s breakfast is hosted by Pastor Pat Medeiros and is free for veterans to attend. Later that day, Joe Robach supported veterans at the annual Town of Greece Veterans Day recognition ceremony at Greece Town Hall. Joining Town Supervisor John Auberger and other elected officials, Greece residents looked back at the history of the Town of Greece Veterans’ Memorial, watching video of the wall’s dedication ceremony.
On Veterans Day, November 11, Joe Robach supporter Gates veterans at their annual Veterans recognition at Gates Town Hall. Joined by Supervisor Mark Assini and other Gates elected officials, Joe Robach thanked the Gates veterans for their sacrifice and service. “It’s because of you – our veterans – that we are here today, living in a free world and enjoying all of the things our government is able to provide us,” said Robach.
